Accessible Equipment Designed for Vets
Two Industry Firsts! Designed with Veterans for Veterans
We are proud to announce two innovative exercise units developed with input from U.S. Military and VA personnel. Greenfields worked with VA doctors, staff, and patients including a veteran Paralympian to develop our latest accessible fitness equipment.
Their participation was instrumental from prototyping to final production. We are grateful for the opportunity to help improve the wellness of our veterans as we continue to develop innovative and accessible fitness equipment.
Background Story: Need Meets Innovation
The VA San Diego Healthcare System wanted a more holistic fitness approach and decided to incorporate an outdoor exercise area. After touring other VA facilities with outdoor gyms, they saw a need for new types of wheelchair-accessible equipment.
Greenfields Outdoor Fitness, already a supplier to the VA, immediately began development of two new accessible units. These adjustable-resistance machines—a rowing machine and an arm curl machine—are now part of our growing Signature Accessible line.
The Latest VA to get Greenfields equipment
Outdoor exercise provides a holistic approach to fitness, improving physical health, mental well-being, and social connection. It helps alleviate PTSD, anxiety, and depression through exposure to nature and sunlight, boosting mood and sleep. Enhanced camaraderie, reduced isolation, and improved sleep quality make outdoor fitness attractive to VA Medical Centers nationwide.
The Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL opened their outdoor fitness facility November 1st, 2024. Featuring elements from our Signature Accessible and Legacy Series, this facility is open to veterans, their caregivers, and VA staff. Learn More
