Want to learn more about ways to promote accessibility and create truly inclusive spaces in your park? Join Doug Grove, Lydie Gutfeld, Sam Mendelsohn, and Jen French on Wednesday, March 11th from 3:45-5:15 for their workshop entitled, “Build Beyond Accessibility in Parks and Recreation” in Promenade 104B. They’ll be sharing practical tips, success stories, and action steps for your agency.




Enter the Greenfields Plank Contest
It’s time to test which parks and recreation agency is truly the strongest with a good, old-fashioned plank competition! Visit Greenfields’ booth #626 on Thursday, March 12th at noon for a chance to win up to $500. 10 lucky winners will be walking away with prizes:
- 1st place (male and female divisions): $500
- 2nd place (male and female divisions): $400
- 3rd place (male and female divisions): $300
- 4th place (male and female divisions): $200
- 5th place (male and female divisions): $100
Competition is open to employees of parks & recreation departments and districts in California, and commissioners attending the Conference in their capacity as representatives of their respective municipalities. Vendors and students are not eligible to compete. Competitors must fill out a safety waiver and agree to having their likeness used for marketing purposes.

Thompson Park, Bellflower
As a prime example of ways to make exercise exciting for visitors of all ages and fitness levels, Thompson Park features a variety of outdoor fitness equipment. Thompson park’s Ninja Course is an exciting way to get teens moving while younger siblings play on the nearby playground. The Ninja Training Ground provides wonderful ways to train the motions and grips needed to excel on the Course, as well as functional fitness for any exercise goals. Meanwhile, users can get their cardio in at the boxing zone or with Greenfields’ NEW Curved Treadmills.
Fremont Park, Glendale
Between the circular layout of this fitness center promoting socialization, the intuitive design of the Adjustable Resistance units, and the multifunctional Calisthenics rig, Fremont Park’s new exercise area makes fitness inviting for both advanced athletes and those newer to working out. The inclusion of Wheelchair Accessible units also allows visitors of all abilities to enjoy time with friends and family members. Meanwhile, the custom colors make this area a beautiful addition to the park.
Wilson Park, Compton
This iconic fitness center showcases stunning purple and gold equipment that was color-matched to compliment other amenities in the Lakers-themed park. Beyond adding to Wilson Park’s visual profile, the fitness zone makes health and wellness more accessible to Compton’s residents by providing free exercise solutions with Greenfields’ Adjustable Resistance equipment and Calisthenics rig.
