Enabling campus visitors to workout for free, the Greenfields exercise equipment on Wichita State University’s campus promotes health and wellness amongst the students and surrounding community.
Located right outside of the Heskett Center for athletics, Greenfields’ workout circuit guides students, faculty, and visitors through a whole-body workout. This fresh-air gym includes units from a variety of Greenfields product lines, making it the perfect exercise destination for people of varying fitness backgrounds.
- Low-Impact units that enable a user to lift a portion of their weight
- Adjustable Resistance units that allow users to choose their workout intensity
- Calisthenics components that can be used in a variety of ways to build functional strength
- Wheelchair Accessible units so that people in wheelchairs do not need to leave their chair to work out
The custom yellow and black coloring of the units promotes school spirit, matching other elements of the university. Still, it’s not simply the university students and staff that benefit from this equipment. All community members are welcome to use this free amenity. For instance, Club Parkinson’s meets within the Heskett Center to provide classes for those living with Parkinson’s. While classes commence, many caregivers frequent the Greenfields gym as an easy way to take care of themselves during their downtime.
