CA – Compton – Wilson Park

Wilson Park’s new amenities attract community members of all ages and interests — especially Lakers fans!

Wilson Park is a one-of-a-kind fitness hub located in Compton, California. While encouraging community members to strive towards health and wellness, it also honors a team that is close to many Compton residents’ hearts: the Lakers.

The City of Compton decked out Wilson Park with the Lakers’ signature gold and purple, as well as several memorial murals. Greenfields jumped in on the project, color-matching the other amenities to create a custom fitness zone for the park. 

This project features a wide variety of units, accommodating 26 users at once and ensuring there is something for people of all abilities to enjoy. On one side of the fitness zone sits Greenfields’ Adjustable Resistance units. Their intuitive design invites even those new to fitness to partake, and allows people of varying capabilities to customize their workout intensity. The eye-catching piece of Wilson Park’s fresh-air gym is a Functional Fitness Rig that provides a wide range of calisthenic exercises to support any fitness goals, from introductory to advanced.

Before upgrading their fitness equipment to match the new theme, Wilson Park had another set of Greenfields units that saw daily use. Park maintenance staff, Rico Romero, mentioned that he would see people there every morning, which is why he wasn’t surprised to see a group of older gentlemen waiting for the tape around the new equipment to be removed so they could use it the morning of the Grand Opening Ceremony. 

Greenfields is honored to be part of such a special place that improves the well-being of so many while honoring a beloved team that inspires others to get active.
